International Exchange: Visit from the University of San Diego（USD）

On November 18, 2025, Mr. Antonio Jr. Formacion and Ms. Diane Ice from the Knauss School of Business at the University of San Diego (USD), California, visited ABS and met with Dean Takamichi Hosoda. This meeting was made possible through the arrangement of Professor Tsutomu (Tom) Nakano. Both visitors are affiliated with USD’s Ahlers Center for International Business, which serves as a hub for international business education and research.

The Center actively provides experiential learning opportunities, international exchange programs, and research support for faculty, all aimed at developing global leaders. These activities align closely with the mission and vision of ABS.

The meeting began with the shared observation that the two schools have very similar cultures. The discussion then moved to concrete possibilities for collaboration, including the potential to host an “Overseas Study Seminar” at USD for ABS students, organizing workshops between ABS and USD students when the latter visit Japan, and even establishing a formal memorandum of understanding between the two business schools to deepen the relationship. The discussions covered a wide range of realistic collaborative opportunities for the near future, and further progress in ABS’s internationalization can be expected.
