国際連合大学（United Nations University）本部への訪問
6月30日に、細田髙道研究科長は、国際連合大学（United Nations University）のチリツィ・マルワラ学長との昼食懇談会へ参加し、その後、本部・学長室にて会談し意見交換をいたしました。昼食懇談会及び会談には廣瀬雄大准教授も同席いたしました。
国際連合大学は、国際連合システム及び加盟国のシンクタンクとしての機能を持ち、地球規模課題解決のための研究、人材育成、知識の普及活動を積極的に行っています。また、国際連合大学は、サステイナビリティに関する修士課程と博士課程を提供しています。さらに、国際連合大学における研究所は世界中に12ヶ所の拠点があり、また、国内外の様々な大学や研究所と提携して、持続可能な開発、平和・ガバナンス、人道問題、科学・技術、イノベーション、教育といった分野に注力しています。
会談では、双方のプログラムや取り組みについての紹介に加えて、学生間交流案、客員教員案、国際連合大学で実施する国際マネジメントセミナー案、海外拠点の研究所と連携した海外研修セミナー案、一般向けイベント案など、短中長期的なコラボレーションの可能性について意見交換を行いました。この度の訪問を機に、今後のABSとの連携が期待されます。
Visit to the United Nations University (UNU) in Tokyo, Japan
On June 30, Dean Takamichi Hosoda participated in a luncheon with Rector Professor Tshilidzi Marwala of the United Nations University (UNU), and then met with him in the Rector’s Office for a discussion and exchange of ideas. Professor Yuta Hirose also joined the luncheon and the meeting.
The UNU functions as a think tank for the United Nations system and member states, actively conducting research, human resource development and knowledge dissemination activities to contribute to solving global issues. The UNU has 12 research institutes around the world and partners with a range of external universities and research institutes to focus on sustainable development, peace and governance, humanitarian affairs, science and technology, innovation, and education.
Today, in addition to introducing the programs and initiatives of both parties, we exchanged views on the possibility of short, medium, and long-term collaboration, such as student exchanges, visiting professorship, international management seminars to be held at the UNU, overseas study seminar in collaboration with UNU’s research institutes and public seminar events. This visit is expected to foster future collaboration with ABS.
