On October 28th, during the “Strategic Marketing” lecture (taught by Professor Kenichiro Kuroiwa), we welcomed Mr. Takeshi Yamada, President and Representative Executive Officer of iRobot Japan LLC and an ABS graduate (2020 Evening Course), who gave a lecture on iRobot's marketing strategy.
In the first half of the class, Mr. Yamada discussed decision-making and performance at iRobot headquarters, as well as iRobot Japan's unique marketing strategy.
In the latter half, students were divided into four teams to conduct group work and present a promotional strategy for a specific product. Mr. Yamada provided feedback on the presentations.
Through the lecture and group work, students gained various practical insights regarding marketing strategy formulation, including the importance of combining quantitative and qualitative analysis, characteristics of the Japanese market, and product policies adapted to it.
