Visit from AACSB

On May 15, 2026, Dr. Geoff Perry and Mr. Guodong Xu from the U.S.-based business education accreditation organization AACSB visited Aoyama Business School (ABS) in Japan.

During their visit, they met with Professor Taka Hosoda, Dean of ABS, for discussions covering a wide range of topics, including the school’s current vision and educational objectives, as well as its initiatives related to Quality Assurance and KPI management. The meeting provided an opportunity for an active exchange of ideas from multiple perspectives regarding the continuous enhancement of educational quality and institutional effectiveness. Assistant Professor David Nichols and Research Assistant Kim Kayon also attended the meeting and contributed to discussions on ABS’s educational and research activities, as well as its internationalization efforts.

Following the meeting, the participants continued their discussions over lunch at a nearby restaurant. In a relaxed atmosphere, they engaged in more in-depth conversations about the future of business education and the role of international accreditation in advancing academic quality and global engagement.

This visit reaffirmed ABS’s commitment to incorporating international perspectives and further enhancing the quality of its educational programs. By actively integrating global insights and best practices, ABS is expected to continue developing programs that are both highly attractive and internationally competitive.
