On February 8, as the first on-site event of ABS’s Overseas Study Seminar I in Seattle, we attended a Welcome Reception hosted by the Chair of the Japan-America Society of the State of Washington together with our students. We were honoured to be joined by President Yuka Shimizu and other members of the Society’s board.
From ABS, Dean & Professor Takamichi Hosoda, Associate Professor Yuta Hirose, Assistant Professor David Nichols, and Assistant Kayoung Kim were also in attendance.
The Japan-America Society of the State of Washington, founded in 1923 to promote mutual understanding between Japan and the United States, is the oldest non-profit organization of its kind in Washington State. It brings together many corporate members involved in Japan–U. economic development and business, and actively organizes seminars, networking opportunities and various events.
Thanks to the generous support of Executive Director Misa Murohashi and all those involved, the reception became a highly meaningful and valuable occasion. We would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere appreciation. We look forward to this exchange serving as a foundation for further strengthening the relationship between ABS and the Japan-America Society of the State of Washington in the years ahead.
Additionally, on February 8 we were fortunate to witness a historic moment: the Seahawks’ victory in Super Bowl LX making the day even more memorable and inspring.
