Overseas Study Seminar I:Seattle Study Tour Report -part2 “Visit to Microsoft Headquarters in Seattle”

On February 9, as part of ABS’s Overseas Study Seminar I, we visited the Microsoft headquarters in the United States together with our programme participants. We were honoured to be joined by Mr Shotaro Uehara, Cloud & AI Global Business Solutions Lead, along with Mr Takuto Higuhchi from the Marketing department, Ms Sayumi Horie from the Finance department and Ms Ayana Yaegashi from the Engineering department. From ABS, Dean Takamichi Hosoda, Associate Professor Yuta Hirose, Assistant Professor David Nichols and Assistant Kayoung Kim also joined the session.

Microsoft’s headquarters is located in Redmond, Washington. Spanning approximately 500 acres, the campus consists of more than 120 buildings and feels like a city of its own. It is the heart of innovation where technologies ranging from Windows to cutting-edge AI are created. With abundant natural surroundings and a visitor centre open to the public, the campus beautifully integrates technology and nature. It truly stands as one of the symbolic landmarks of the global tech industry.

Thanks to the generous support and cooperation of Mr Shotaro Uehara and all those involved, this visit became a highly insightful and meaningful experience. We would like to express our sincere appreciation. Building on the dialogue and trust established through this opportunity, we hope to see new initiatives emerge between ABS and Microsoft in the near future.
